Isaac Galloway, Dan Schlereth
Last two profiles today. Value board’s going to be 25-deep, these are the last two I’m adding.
Isaac Galloway
Isaac Galloway is another five-tool high school outfielder, sort of. He possesses all five of the usual tools, but he doesn’t possess any one of them in a particularly large quantity.
Galloway is likely projected for something around 20ish homers, mostly to the pull side, and they’ll be accompanied by roughly 20 steals. He’s projected to hit somewhere in the .280-.300 range.
As a fielder, he’s another player who’s sort of a CF-COF tweener. He’s currently fine in center, but as he matures he may be forced to move a corner. Considering his plus arm - probably the most legitimately plus tool he has - that may be in right. He could either be a very good corner defender or an adequate centerfielder.
Galloway’s value would be very high indeed if he was guaranteed to stay in center, but even with the possibility of moving to a corner he’s worth a good long look.
Dan Schlereth
Sorry the last guy couldn’t be more exciting, but I’ve gotta go with a college closer. Still, he’s a pretty good one. Plus, he’s the son of former NFLer Mark Schlereth.
Schlereth throws a fastball consistently ~94, but he can pump it up to ~97 if he really wants to. He throws a hard, hard curve in the low 80s and a good change in the ~78-80 range.
This gives him his big K ability; through April 17th of this year, Schlereth had 155 Ks in 104.2 career IP. Unfortunately, in his first two years, those Ks were combined with 66 K in 84.1 IP. The command issues are very real, but they’re reportedly improved this year.
Draft him if you want some help in the next 1-2 years.
Value board’s coming up soon.
